Therapeutic Modalities

I have experience and training in a variety of evidence-based treatments including; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Seeking Safety, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) provides a way to manage challenges by looking at and changing the way you think. CBT is most commonly used to treat anxiety and depression.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) uses mindfulness and behavioral techniques in order to help individuals accept their thoughts and feelings rather than avoid them. The goal is to be guided by values in order to live a rich and meaningful life even in the presence of difficult and challenging feelings.

Seeking Safety

Seeking Safety is a present-focused therapy model that aids people in gaining safety from trauma/PTSD and/or substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a cognitive therapy that focuses on teaching four sets of behavioral skills: mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and emotion regulation.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic Therapy brings awareness of the parts of oneself that are not currently in conscious awareness through exploration of the past, self-reflection, and the interpersonal relationship between client and therapist.

Emotionally Focused Therapy

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) focuses on identifying and understanding underlying emotions and patterns that contribute to relational distress. By exploring these emotions in a safe and supportive environment, clients can develop stronger bonds, improve communication, and create healthier, more secure relationships.
